Energy savings and future-proof compressed air at Nørmark Meat

Nørmark Meat, which supplies meat products wholesale to countries including Denmark, Sweden and Germany, has for many years placed a strong emphasis on energy optimisation and sustainable operations. The factory is already actively implementing green initiatives such as the reuse of waste heat, LED lighting and 100% wind energy.

As the company’s existing compressor could no longer keep pace with production and had also become an energy drain, Reno was called in to find the most efficient solution.

This is how our team approached the task

  • We installed a temporary compressor so that production could continue without interruption.
  • An Airchitect energy assessment provided a detailed insight into the factory’s actual compressed air requirements and established a solid data foundation for selecting the most energy-efficient and correctly sized solution.
  • A leak detection survey identified unnecessary air wastage in the pipework system.

A future-proof compressed air setup

Nørmark Meat has now been fitted with a modern, energy-efficient compressor that automatically adjusts the volume of compressed air to meet current demand. The new installation also includes a filter, a refrigerated dryer and updated pipework — all designed to reduce energy consumption, minimise wear and tear, and maximise operational reliability. As an added bonus, the heat from the compressor is now being used to heat the dry goods warehouse.
