Air quality analysis D.5.1.

Compressed air is often used by companies for breathing masks (respiratory protection), and here it´s important to pay special attention to the purity of the compressed air and the legal requirements that apply in this certain area.

Compressed air purity – several factors are crucial

Several factors come into play when we talk about compressed air purity. It is a good idea to seek professional advice and guidance when installing a compressed air system, as the location of the compressor, intake air, ventilation, etc. affect the purity and quality of the compressed air, as does the use of the right equipment for compressed air after-treatment - filters, dryers, piping, vessels, etc. play a crucial role.

The Danish Working Environment Authority's Guideline No. D.5.1.

If compressed air is used for respiratory protection, it must be checked at regular intervals. The Danish Working Environment Authority's Guideline No. D.5.1. contains guidelines on the use and maintenance of compressed air systems for respiratory masks (breathing air), including rules for carrying out condition checks on the system, ongoing maintenance and cleaning, and measurement results for the quality of the breathing air.

Make use of a compressed air quality analysis

At Reno, we are specialists in compressed air, and in addition to helping with the design of compressor installations, we also carry out control measurements of compressed air quality. Everything is done in accordance with the Danish Working Environment Authority's Guideline No. D.5.1., which is designed to ensure that the compressed air is approved for respiratory protection.

Analyses of compressed air for breathing masks must typically be carried out at least once a year. The actual examination and collection of samples always takes place directly at the place of use and takes approx. 70-80 minutes. We then send the samples obtained for analysis at an accredited laboratory. When the analysis is returned, we prepare an authorised report documenting the purity of the compressed air used.
